The Vertical Gateway, Hotel Verta at the London

Creation of the masterplan and interior architecture for a new-build 70 room boutique hotel and heliport.

The hotel is an integral element within the innovative redevelopment of a complex mixed-use site that includes apartments, live-work units, offices and commercial space. What makes this scheme truly unique, however, is the fact that it includes the new London Heliport terminus. The environment is unashamedly metropolitan and urban, but the hotel will provide an oasis of calm refinement, and a range of facilities, for this rapidly changing part of the city.

The brief was born out to create a chic and timeless design for a strikingly contemporary hotel. One that takes its clue from the glamour and elegance that characterised the classic age of early aviation in the 1930’s & 40’s. It includes a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views over the Thames and a state-of-the-art subterranean spa.
